Wanted: The fastest and/or best equipped machines running any Windows 3.1x version

There are two categories:

Fastest machines: those with Pentium IV or Athlon II and 1 GB RAM or such (no, just kidding, your machine has chances with a processor running at maybe 200 MHz or more ;).

Best equipped or exotic machines: these can be even 486 or 386 systems, but must be stuffed with all kinds of hardware (much more RAM than usual for such a machine, many peripherals...).

Oh, and if you have Win 3.1x running on a PC emulation on a Unix server or such, feel free to add it as well. The only requirement is that a full version of Win 3.1x must run on this system (including WinOS/2).

Oh, BTW: I guess I've visited too many overclocker sites lately <g>...

1. Information to include
2. Results part 1: Fastest systems
3. Results part 2: Best equipped systems

Information to include:

  • Processor type and clock (Intel 486DX/2-66 or Pentium III 500, for example) and mainboard clock (called "frontside bus" or FSB with newer machines)
  • Amount of RAM and number, kind and size of memory modules (for example: 32 MB: 2x16 MB EDO)
  • mainboard type (Mfr., model and chipset)
  • Graphics card(s) (and bus type)
  • Possibly the monitor's brand and size
  • Hard disk(s): size and mfr.
  • Sound card
  • Especially important for the "best equipped" machines: other peripherals: Additional floppy drive(s), modem, ISDN card, SCSI host adaptor, possibly scanner/printer and just anything else that exists as an extension card for the computer or can be connected to it ;)
  • Exact Windows version
  • Version of underlying OS
If you think you have such a fast or well-equipped Windows 3.1x system and would like to have it listed here, do the following: Collect the data above and write to me (for those poor people with IE and external mailing programs: jgrossklass@t-online.de)!

1. Benötigte Infos
2. Resultate, die erste: Die schnellsten Systeme
3. Resultate, die zweite: Die bestausgestatteten Systeme

Welche Informationen man angeben sollte:
